At the heart of our farm is a small cherished herd of 'Royal' Golden Guernsey goats, these golden girls aren't just livestock, they are the inspiration behind every bar of soap we create, with their honey coloured coats and gentle inquisitive spirits, they truly live up to their 'Royal' title

The story of the 'Royal' Golden Guernsey is one of miraculous survival, documented as far back as 1826 on the island of guernsey, the breed faced its darkest hour during WW11 during the German occupation of the channel islands, most livestock was unfortunately slaughtered for food, the breed only exists today thanks to the bravery of Miriam Milbourn, she risked everything to hide a small group in the scrub and the sea caves, keeping them a secret until the war ended, every golden girl on our farm today can be traced back to those survivors, a living piece of history that we are proud to protect

In 2024 the breed was granted the title 'Royal' by King Charles III, the first time in recent history such a title has been granted to a livestock breed, recognising their cultural importance

The 'Royal' Golden Guernseys goats are smaller and more delicate than other dairy breeds, but what they produce is pure gold, their milk is:

Rich and Creamy, high in natural butterfat and protein.

Artisan Quality - this richness is what makes our soap so incredibly moisturising and gentle on the skin

Small Batch - because they produce less milk than industrial breeds, every drop is precious and handled with the upmost care

By choosing our soap bars you are directly supporting the conservation of this rare, 'Royal' breed, each bar is a tribute to our golden girls and with the addition of infused botanicals honour's their heritage.
